Experiences should be as diverse as a child’s growing interests, therefore, There will be no shortage of stories being shared when your son or daughter returns home each day from IDEAS Camps! This program provides young boys and girls with stimulating and traditional weekly day camp themes, but adds a healthy offering of appropriate age-level interactive activities into each summer camp day. Tuesday is your day to ride, so of course you are going to do that! And Wednesday is tie dye day, so definitely don’t miss that! The choice is yours.Led by experienced adults who work in education, girls and boys enjoy a safe, nurturing and fun summer camp environment. Maybe on Monday you’ll try Woodslore because your best friend in the cabin says it is great. You don’t sign up in advance, you don’t have to go to the same one all week.
Everyday, when your unit has WRC, you can choose which of those three activities to go to. Crafts is exactly what it sounds like! Tie dye, woodworking, watercolors…you name it.

Riding is horseback riding and horsemanship, learning the parts of a horse, parts of a saddle, how to tack up a horse, and more. Here you learn firebuilding, plant identification, outdoor cooking, and a whole lot more. For example: Woodslore, Riding, Crafts, or WRC as we call it. Every day, you choose what activities you go to for each of the four activity periods, as well as a few special “floating” activities. Because of that, we’ve designed our schedule to have a lot of choices built in. Choose Your Own AdventureĪt Falcon, we don’t believe you should be stuck doing something you hate. There are also countless minutes to form bonds with counselors and campers, increase one’s independence and decision-making skills, and learn new things! See below for a detailed schedule of how the day works. Our day includes 4 activity periods featuring 12 activities, 3 meals, 1 rest hour, 1 evening activity, 1 snack. At camp, there is a lot to do every day–and also a lot of time for making friends, hanging out, and learning new skills, from canoeing to problem-solving, to social-emotional.
